Supporters around the country will soon be marking Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Awareness Week, 19-25th October, (with World Awareness Day on Sunday 25th).
This year, to raise vital funds and awareness for these complex conditions, Peterborough-based charity Shine has launched the Shimmer for Shine competition.
We are asking friends, families and colleagues to wear yellow (with lots of bling!) and take a selfie. The winning photos - to be announced on 18th December - win a half case of wine. You can find out more at www.shinecharity.org.uk/WYAS and for your free fundraising pack, which includes everything you need (including six free pairs of shimmer glasses) contact Ali Coutts on 01733 421351 or email
Funds raised will go directly to help Shine’s work with people affected by spina bifida and hydrocephalus - providing help to manage the daily challenges these conditions bring for all the family, and to campaign for better services and support.
Other events happening during the week include quiz nights, which will be taking place around the country. Do pop along to see us at the Shine stand in Bridge Street, Peterborough, on Friday 23rd, 10am-4pm.
