The aim of the World Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Day is to raise awareness and understanding and to advocate and promote the rights of persons with these conditions. Here is the WSBHD toolkit on how to become part of it. IF’s members have been celebrating it since 2012. Have a look at this year’s activities worldwide

On this occasion, the International Federation for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus is glad to share with you our upcoming Global Prevention Initiative that will be officially launched by HRH Princess Astrid of Belgium on 28 October at the Turning Points conference. The Global Prevention Initiative (GPI) aims to tackle the primary prevention of neural tube defects (NTDs) and hydrocephalus as a united global community. Its goal is to unite all relevant organisations, NGOs, Governments, policy makers, health services, health professionals and individuals around the world to maximize the risk reduction of NTDs and hydrocephalus.
